Show Off – To behave in an impudent manner. An exhibitionist.
Show Off Entertainment was formed by a group of friends from South Queens NY in 2002 initially as a dance group. Originating from various parts of the western hemisphere and sharing an interest in the Dancehall Reggae and Hip Hop music. Being each uniquely eccentric, individuals it was decided we would call ourselves Show Off, a name fitting of our behavior.
After the dance group dissolved in 2003 Dj Ace & Stokelife began to promote parties throughout Queens NY. Holding events at: Onipa Abusia, Premier, Element, Club Rum, Diamond Lounge, Hollywood & Main. In an effort to connect with our community we begun producing spoken word and poetry open mic events in November of 2007 at The Afrikan Poetry Theater. Open mic has allow artists to hone their for a live audience and network with other creative beings.. Poets, musicians and even a few politicians have graced our stages. All are welcome to perform and be broadcast on out Youtube channel. We have held events at The Afrikan Poetry Theater, Fulton Park and Chashama Windows on 42nd. A few notable performers who have graced the stage includes: Lamar Hill, Ibrahim POET Siddiq, The Werdsman, Tut Burks, Shareef Ali, Ms Bizzy Body, Primo, Osage, Distinguish, Essence, Element, Honest Abe, Empress Poetry, RQ Tek, The Metaphysical Lyrical Wizard, Kapotheosis and many others. At the time this was written we had over 300 Youtube videos of performances. Our goal is to simply have fun, meet positive and creative people while helping someone along the way
Mr. Ace is a jack of all trades. A Host for Show Off Entertainment’s Poetry Events, a Clothing Designer for his Ace Cards clothing line, a song writer a poet, producer, and founder of Show Out NYC Auto Club. He operates Minitone Sounds, a Dj service along with his twin Dj Drew. They have been DJs since 4 years old and in 2011 Mr. Ace won DJ of The Year within the auto club circuit. Minitone sound has performed at: Amazura, C-Pac, Mangoville, Webster Hall, Brooklyn College, Eclipse, KC Hideaway, Club A, Club City, SchinS and a variety of other venues in NY, GA, PA. Along with his twin brother Dj Drew have been DJs since 4 years old. They formed the DJ group Minitone Sound which was named in honor of their father’s Metrotone Sound.
Stokelife is an experienced graphic designer, sometimes web designer, video/audio editor, DJ, song writer and tecnician. He has been charged with promoting the Show Off Entertainment brand and working behind the scenes to create unforgettable events.
